In addition to looking at how microbes are adapted to low energy lifestyles and talking in the third person, Jon more specifically loves looking at the genomic characteristics of the aforementioned microbes, particularly in ecological evolutionary space. He is working at characterizing these bugs mainly in subsurface and sediment datasets.
